OHL, through its OHL Industrial division, has participated in the Certification in innovation and innovation in certification course arranged by the Spanish Quality Association (AEC, by its Spanish acronym) in Madrid. The event, held last 24 September, focused on the value of certification as a key to promote Research Development and Innovation policies in Spanish companies, and on the value of innovation when certifying mature management systems.
The act, inaugurated by José Manuel Prieto, general deputy manager for Quality and Industrial Security of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, included speeches by Juan Manuel Garrido, general deputy manager for the Development of Business Innovation of the Ministry of Economics and Competitiveness; Edelio Gago, Head of the Certification and Verification Department of the National Accreditation Entity, and Pedro Iglesias, First Vice President of AEC, amongst other participants.
OHL was represented by Bertrán Visedo, head of the Quality and Sustainability Department of OHL Industrial. The OHL Group has a certified multisite management system, in force since 2012. This certification is able to provide client confirmation that all projects, irrespective of characteristics and geographical location, meet the requirements of international rules in occupational health and safety matters (OHSAS 18001), the environment (ISO 14001) and quality (ISO 9001).
In order to obtain this certificate, the Group has implemented an integrated management system to encourage a reduction in economic costs and time, by standardizing the annual auditing process to cover a certain number of centers at once.
