December 23, 2011
OHL has been recognized for the Best People Commitment Initiative in the framework of the first edition of the Corporate Social Responsibility Awards launched by Fundación Construcción y Madera. The CSR awards honor three categories: The commitment to people, society and the environment.
OHL has been recognized for its firm commitment to create a stable framework of relations with employees, while promoting training in human rights and without neglecting the oversight of occupational risks and equal opportunity policies in those countries in which it operates. In this sense, it is noteworthy that since OHL joined the United Nations Global Compact and as one of the founders in 2004 of the current Spanish Global Compact Network, OHL has firmly encouraged and promoted, among other things, compliance with the principles governing human and labor rights.
Luis García-Linares, Corporate CEO of OHL received the award on behalf of the Group from Manuel González Blanco, Regional Manager for Madrid of Fundación Laboral de la Construcción. The ceremony was also attended Carmelo Ferrández, Corporate HR Director.
Fundación Construcción y Madera was created with the aim, among other things, of promoting comprehensive training for directors, union leaders and members, as well as the development of training programs and a forum for trade union debates and studies for all workers in construction, wood and related industries.
