OHL shows its commitment to employability

April 13, 2016

In conjunction with the Integra Foundation, the OHL Group has arranged the seminar entitled A shared commitment: challenges and key issues to encourage recruitment. The event, held last 12 April in Torre Espacio, OHL’s head office in Madrid, gathered representatives of various companies connected to the Foundation, in order to exchange experiences and to trace new lines of action, increasing the number of job opportunities available to persons at a risk of social exclusion, consequently achieving greater integration and equality.

Of interest was the presence of Alfonso Gordon, on behalf of the OHL Group, general manager of Human Resources and Organization, who was in charge of opening the event; Ana Muñoz de Dios, general manager of the Integra Foundation; Cristina Encinas, head of HR of OHL Servicios-Ingesan; and Beatriz Sánchez, Brand and Corporate Social Responsibility Director at Indra. Furthermore, one of the female beneficiaries of the employability plans launched by the Integra Foundation gave an account of her experience.

During his speech, Alfonso Gordon pointed out that OHL has gathered outstanding experience in achieving social integration through employment. An example of this is its partnership with the Integra Foundation since 2002, as a result of which more than 400 contracts have been executed, basically for cleaning services, home care and building maintenance provided by OHL Servicios-Ingesan.

Cristina Encinas has pointed out that the company has undertaken a firm commitment to promote social wellbeing through employability. To do this, it is hiring staff according to a series of strictly professional criteria, guaranteeing that quality profiles are selected for each job position. Furthermore, she has referred to OHL Servicios-Ingesan’s acquired commitment in favor of equality, as reflected by the fact that the largest number of contracts has been executed with female victims of gender violence.

Since 2002, OHL has held a collaboration agreement with the Integra Foundation, and belongs to its board of trustees. Over this period of time, the Group has supported various projects launched by the Foundation and has started up a specific employability plan for disabled groups or groups at a risk of social exclusion. In turn, OHL Servicios-Ingesan has been involved for ten years now in several programs launched by the Foundation in order to facilitate the access to the job market of vulnerable persons.

OHL collaborates with the Integra Foundation in three fields: employability of persons at a risk of social exclusion, awareness amongst Human Resources managers and in relation to the  Strengthening Training volunteer work program, aimed at providing beneficiaries of the Foundation with the necessary knowledge and resources to be able to access and fully join the job market.
