OHL will build a sports center for the 2019 Pan-American Games in Peru

OHL has been awarded the construction of the Villa El Salvador Sports Center for the Pan-american Games which will be held next year in Lima (Peru). The contract, with a budget of 20 million euros, has been awarded by the Pan-American Games Organizing Committee to the Joint Venture headed by OHL (60%) and the Peruvian construction company, JE Construcciones Generales (40%).
The complex will cover a surface of 18,700 square meters and will be composed of a pavilion with a capacity for over 6,000 spectators and another for the training and warming up of the competitors. During the celebration of the Games, this facility will hold the gymnastics, volleyball, basketball, handball, indoor soccer, fencing, badminton, wrestling, karate and ping pong trials.
The Sports Center will be built in the Villa El Salvador district of Lima, located in the south of the Peruvian capital. It is very close to the Pan-American Villa, the residential area where the majority of the athletes participating in the Pan-American Games will be staying.
Other sport facilities
OHL has ample experience in the construction and remodeling of sports facilities, the first of which was the Frontón Recoletos in Madrid in 1935. Also noteworthy are the construction of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, the Real Madrid Sports City, or the remodeling of the Nou Camp Stadium in Barcelona. In addition to these, the raceways in Jarama and Jerez de la Frontera. All of them are located in Spain.
