OHL wins the Social Commitment Prize granted by the Konecta Foundation

The OHL Group’s effort to integrate into the job market any groups actually or potentially suffering social exclusion has been acknowledged, by the Konecta Foundation, with its Social Commitment Prize. The prize award ceremony, held last 8 July in Madrid, coincided with the celebration of the Foundation’s X anniversary and, amongst other personalities, gathered Fátima Báñez, Minister of Employment and Social Security, and Her Royal Highness Infanta Doña Elena. On behalf of the OHL Group, the act was attended by Luis García-Linares, General Corporate Manager and Chairman of OHL Servicios, who collected the prize from the hands of the Minister.
OHL has been collaborating with the Konecta Foundation since the year 2007. Over this time, the Group has participated in various initiatives, to include the Aula Accessible project, also promoted by the Juan-Miguel Villar Mir Foundation and the Construction Labor Foundation which, under the claim Construction surroundings for all, is addressed to town council technicians, company managers and university students, in order to provide them with the necessary tools to carry out measures to encourage awareness in favor of integrating persons with varying disabilities.
In addition to this project, a formative plan has been launched in conjunction with FREMAP, a Mutual Benefit Company for Occupational Accidents and Professional Illnesses belonging to the Social Security, addressed to victims of occupational accidents in order to facilitate access to technological formative routes for professional refreshment courses, and the Electronic Accessibility Observatory, used to diagnose the level of accessibility of OHL Group’s main internal computer applications.
The OHL Group has been articulating its action guidelines in social matters through its 2012-2015 Framework Social Action Plan, coordinated by the Social Action, Sponsorship and Patronage Service, belonging to the General Corporate Management. Furthermore, since October 2013, it has adhered to the London Benchmarking Group (LBG), in order to evaluate the social impact of investments on society and to unify social investments and contributions.
