For the project of adaptation to the Transmilenio system of the Troncal Ciudad de Cali Avenue
OHLA Colombia receives the BIM 2022 Excellence Award
November 7, 2022
The Colombian Chamber of Construction (Camacol) and BIM Forum Colombia have awarded OHLA the BIM 2022 Excellence Award for achieving first place among the projects that participated in the Design – Infrastructure category. Specifically, the company has been awarded for the good use of BIM in the project for the adaptation to the Transmilenio system of the Troncal Ciudad de Cali Avenue Section 1, in Bogota.
In this project, the Building Information Modeling (BIM) collaborative methodology has been used to improve the execution of the works in the design and construction stages. Thanks to the BIM processes, all the documentary information and plans were unified and centralized in one place, which generated better results in planning and execution. BIM has also helped identify more than 4,000 project interferences early. The use of collaborative tools has had a positive impact in terms of efficiency and sustainability, by optimizing time and costs, and the responsible use of material resources.
Awarded by the Urban Development Institute (IDU), the project developed by OHLA entails the execution of one of the four sections that will make up the future Ciudad de Cali Avenue, with construction of 1.67 kilometers of roadway, two lanes for the Transmilenio bus rapid transit system and two lanes for mixed traffic. In addition, the scope of the project includes construction of a 1.66-kilometer bike path, a bicycle station with a capacity for 102 bicycles, two new Transmilenio stations and 37,000 m2 of public space.
