OHLA, through its Industrial business area, has been awarded four new projects for the design, construction and commissioning of four photovoltaic plants in Spain for a total amount of more than 130 million euros. With OHLA’s participation in these projects, the company reduces its carbon footprint by investing in clean energy.

The new contracts awarded are located in Cedillo (Cáceres), which will have an installed capacity of 150 MW, Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz), with a capacity of 100 MW, Valladolid, where it will reach 66 MW, and Tarancón (Cuenca), with 100 MW managed. In total, they will generate more than 700,000 MW h/year of 100% clean energy that will supply approximately 200,000 homes.

More than 1,200 MW in more than 25 projects in Europe, America and Asia

OHLA’s portfolio includes more than 25 renewable energy projects, both completed and under construction, in Europe, America and Asia, with a total installed capacity of more than 1,200 MW. This energy would supply approximately 220,000 homes annually.

In Spain, where it has close to 700 MW under management, it has carried out important generation contracts with clean energies, including the solar thermal plants of Arenales (50 MW) and Puerto Errado, in Murcia (30 MW), one of the largest built in the world to date. Next to them, the Valiente wind farm in Huesca, and the San Juan del Puerto Biomass plant (50MW), in the province of Huelva. Also noteworthy are the Trujillo III (11MW), La Olmeda (6MW), Zafra (50MW), Huéneja (150 MW) Olivares (50MW) and Los Llanos (150MW) photovoltaic farms.

Latin America, more than 530 MW under management

In Latin America, where it manages nearly 530 MW, serving a population equivalent of approximately 100,000 people, it has the La Jacinta Solar photovoltaic farm (with a capacity of 65 MW), located in Uruguay; the Perote II photovoltaic plant (120 MW), located in Mexico, as well as the La Huella photovoltaic facility (87 MW) and the La Estrella wind farm (50 MW), both in Chile. It is also building the 200 MW Coya photovoltaic plant in Chile.

Other projects carried out include the 20 MW photovoltaic plant in Tucson (Arizona, USA), and the Al Mafraq and Empire I photovoltaic plants, each with 65 MW and located in Jordan.
