OHLA has reached a new milestone in sustainability by achieving second place in the international infrastructure sustainability index Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB 2024), which recognizes companies’ best practices in ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance).

With a score of 98 out of 100, OHLA has surpassed its best historical record in this index, which has allowed it to reach the second position both in its comparable Infrastructure Maintenance and Operation group and among the participating listed companies. Overall, OHLA ranked 63rd out of a total of 694 participants, obtaining the highest score in the Leadership, Policy, Reporting and most of the Performance blocks.

This recognition reinforces OHLA’s commitment to sustainability and reflects the company’s will to continue developing all its activities in a responsible manner, carrying out projects that care for the planet and contribute to the well-being and development of society.

Sustainable construction

OHLA’s portfolio includes more than 60 singular building projects built under sustainability standards, most of them located in the United States and Europe. In total, OHLA has built close to 50 projects that already have Leed, BREEAM, Passivhaus, CES and WELL certificates, and close to 11 are in the process of obtaining them. These awards reflect the company’s commitment to sustainable construction through the development of infrastructures that use materials and construction processes with a low environmental impact.
