OHLA adds to its portfolio the construction of a new infrastructure in Chile. In this case, the company has been awarded the third phase, worth €27 million, which will complete the construction of the Bicentenary Bridge of Concepción, linking Concepción and San Pedro de la Paz, in the Biobío region.

Specifically, the works include completing the bridge to the north by means of a 540-meter viaduct connecting Chacabuco and Arturo Prat Avenues. It also includes the construction of a downstream branch that will connect the viaduct to Costanera Avenue towards Hualpén, and a braided track between Loop 1 and 3 North along Costanera Avenue.

The project also involves the landscaping of the north and south banks of the Biobío River, the lighting of the viaduct, and bicycle paths under the viaduct.

More than 40 years in Chile

OHLA has been present in Chile for more than four decades through the execution of concession projects, civil works, singular buildings, and industrial activities. The company recently announced its participation in a contract for the Spence mining company in the Antofagasta Region, a mining company of worldwide reference. To this project must be added the construction of a police training school in Concepción, Chile.

The company was also awarded the construction and maintenance of four hospitals in the Biobío region. Together, the four hospitals under concession (Coronel, Lota, Nacimiento and Santa Bárbara) will provide 569 beds to the health system and will benefit a population of more than 400,000 people.
