September 10, 2018
The ambassador of Spain in Chile, Carlos Robles Fraga, and the economic and comercial attaché, Iñigo Febrel, have visited the construction work of the Américo Vespucio Oriente Highway (AVO I) that OHL is carrying out in Santiago de Chile, in JV and for in amount of 890 million euros, for the Sociedad Concesionaria AVO I. They were accompanied in their visit by representatives of the consortium that is developing the project, among which stand out on behalf of OHL, Roberto Durán, President of OHL Construcción Chile, and Francisco Moreno, Area Manager.
The Américo Vespucio Highway will have a longitude of 9.3 km and three lanes in each direction for the most part of its route. Its trajectory runs along five communes -La Reina, Las Condes, Vitacura, Recoleta and Huechuraba- and includes a tunnel under the Cerro San Cristóbal and the Mapocho River. The infrastructure will contribute to reduce the travel time in the Eastern sector of Santiago de Chile and will improve the level of service of an arterial road that presently is highly saturated.
OHL initiated its activity in Chile in the 80’s. Since then it has maintained a permanent presence in the country. It has recently been awarded the construction of the Central Criminalistic Laboratory of Chile and is executing the Gustavo Fricke Hospital and the Curicó Hospital, among other projects.
