The OHL Group will participate in three new Adif contracts that total Euro 132 million

The OHL Group, through its subsidiary G&O, will participate in three new maintenance service contracts covering the infrastructure and conventional rail network in Spain totaling Euro 131.8 million. They were awarded by Administrador de Infraestructuras Ferroviarias (Railroad Infrastructure Management, ADIF in Spanish). Fifty percent of the entire Iberian gauge railroad requires maintenance.
The largest contract totals Euro 53.3 million and covers Northeast Lot 4. It was awarded to a joint venture formed by G&O (25%), Comsa (25,5%), Acciona (22,5%), AZVI (22%), and Vías y Construcciones (5%).
The second contract totals Euro 41.6 million and covers Center Lot 1. It was awarded to a joint venture formed by Vías y Construcciones (29%), G&O (22%), Ferrovial Agroman (20%), Convensa (19%) and Coprosa (10%).
The third contract totals Euro 36.9 million and covers South Lot 6. It was awarded to a joint venture formed by Convensa (27%), Neopul (25%), Azvi (22%), G&O (16%) and Coprosa (10%).
These service contracts cover a two year period, and can be extended for a further two years. The purpose of these contracts is to inspect the railroad platform and introduce any kind of improvement to rail traffic that affects either the platform (cuttings, embankments, bridges, tunnels, etc.) or the superstructure (rails, sleepers, ballast, switches and crossings, etc.).
G&O has vast experience in this business and has been continuously maintaining high-speed railroads in Spain for 25 years, currently maintaining the Córdoba-Málaga and Madrid-Zaragoza lines.
Railroad projects in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas
OHL has been awarded substantial railroad projects in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas, which includes the high-speed line between the holy cities of Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia, the largest such Spanish project abroad. Also a section 206 km long of the high-speed Istanbul-Ankara line in Turkey, which has been operational since 2009. It was also awarded the first railroad construction project for a Spanish company in the USA, which involved extending the Miami metro to the Miami international airport in the state of Florida.
These achievements have been complimented by major projects to modernize the railroad corridors in the Czech Republic, and participation in the Norse EPC SKI (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) project. This consists of reconstructing the Ski railroad station and extending it to accommodate the high-speed – Follo Line –. In addition to improvements to the current line between Lund and Arlöv (Malmö), which is one of the busiest railroads in the country, by constructing the first 8 km section between Arlöv and Flackarp in Sweden.
The Group is also working on other projects in Spain, such as the north-northeast corridor of the Madrid-Galicia HSR (Espiño tunnel segment); infrastructure for the railroad station at Huelva; assembling tracks to increase HSR capacity from Madrid (Atocha) to Torrejon de Velasco (Madrid), and the Seville direction segment of the Madrid-Levante HSR connection with the Madrid-Seville LAV.
