OHL participates in the Practical Guide to Ecological Restoration of the Biodiversity Foundation

OHL has participated in the Practical Guide to Ecological Restoration, prepared by the Spanish Biodiversity Foundation within the framework of the Spanish Enterprise and Biodiversity Initiative (IEEB). This document, presented at the National Environment Congress (CONAMA 2018) held recently in Madrid, aims to guide decision-making to promote ecological restoration in actions to strengthen and recover natural capital. Also, the Guide will serve as a methodological tool for the future National Strategy for Green Infrastructure and for Ecological Connectivity and Restoration.
The collaboration of OHL through the case study Restoration of the European mink habitat (Mustela lutreola) within the framework of the Canal de Navarra project, has served to highlight the importance of establishing preventive and restoration measures to not only minimize impacts on the habitat, but to return it to its natural state and even improve it.
The Practical Guide to Ecological Restoration is the result of the initiative proposed in 2015 by several companies, including OHL, in the context of the IEEB, to develop a practical guide that facilitates the incorporation of the Ecological Restoration methodology into company operations. The final document has involved more than 100 representatives from the scientific, technical, administrative, business and NGO sectors.
