OHLA Turkey team donates machinery and tools to help earthquake rescue efforts

Following the strong earthquake that shook southern Turkey on February 6, the OHLA team in the country has mobilized by donating machinery and tools from the construction site warehouses to help in the rescue efforts.
On the day of the earthquake, OHLA provided the rescue teams (AFAD) with generators and light towers. In a second action, tools such as saws and drills, and work sheds were included. The equipment commissioning work has been carried out continuously since Monday of last week.
In addition to these actions, the company has launched a campaign in Spain to collect materials, which it plans to extend to other markets in the near future.
OHLA has carried out important infrastructure projects in Turkey. It is worth highlighting its participation in Turkey’s first high-speed rail project, specifically in the construction of a new high-speed line between Ankara and Istanbul, in its Eskisehir-Esenkent section (Phase I) with a length of 206 km and in operation since 2009.
It is currently developing the Marmaray project, which connects the railway lines on the European side with those on the Asian side, in Istanbul, through a submerged tunnel in the Bosphorus Strait.
